Metso to Supply Equipment for Iron Ore Pelletizing Plant to China Metallurgical Group in Australia

Metso Minerals will supply equipment and services for a grate-kiln iron ore pelletizing system to China Metallurgical Group Corporation's (MCC) Sino Iron project in Western Australia. The delivery will be completed during the Q4 of the year 2009. The value of the order is approximately EUR 25 million and it is included in Metso's Q3 orders received.

Metso will deliver an iron ore pelletizing plant including rotary kiln, traveling grate, annular cooler and the balling system, complemented by core process technology, engineering and critical components, program and control system, instruments, spare parts, supervision, and start-up services.

Once the system is in operation, the project will be able to process 6 million tons of iron ore into pellets per year, making it the largest grate kiln iron ore pelletizing system in terms of capacity in Australia and Asia-Pacific area. This is Metso's second order to the Sino Iron project this year.
