Free Webinar on Solving Moisture Problems in Powders

On December 10, 2014 at 11am ET, Brady Carter, Decagon Devices research scientist, will present a free webinar, Solving Moisture Problems in Powders.

Carter will educate attendees on how to avoid caking, stickiness, reduced flow, crystallization, and other moisture-related problems in powders. This virtual seminar will show viewers how to identify and solve the issues that directly affect the stability of powder products.

Learn how to:
• Understand the unique moisture sorption isotherm of your powder
• Define key moisture related indicators for powder stability
• Identify critical points for process control
• Identify strategies to extend shelf life of powder
• Investigate packaging requirements

Carter will also discuss the difference between moisture content and water activity, and how they are related through the moisture sorption isotherm.

Carter has a Masters Degree in Cereal Chemistry and Crop Science from Washington State University and a Bachelors Degree in Botany from Weber State University.  He has been the instructor of nine full-day water activity seminars, and has provided on-site water activity training for companies around the world.  He has authored more than 20 white papers on water activity, moisture sorption isotherms, and complete moisture analysis. He has participated in hundreds of extension presentations and has given multiple presentations at scientific conferences.
