GOJO to Establish New Manufacturing Operations in Ohio
GOJO is responding to increased demand for Purell products by opening two new manufacturing sites in Ohio.
Cleaning and sanitizing products manufacturer GOJO Industries revealed plans this week to open two new manufacturing facilities in Ohio to boost production of Purell brand sanitizer, soap, wipes, and surface spray.
On Tuesday, the company announced that it acquired a 325,000-sq-ft facility in Maple Heights, OH that will produce Purell Surface Spray, which has been included in the EPA’s List N of products that can be used against COVID-19. The company also recently signed a lease for a site in Navarre, OH that will be utilized for storage and distribution.
“We believe the world will forever be changed by this pandemic and we see this translating to a sustained increase in awareness of the importance of safe and effective hygiene practices,” the company’s president and chief executive officer, Carey Jaros, said in a press release. “This will result in ongoing, heightened demand for our essential Purell skincare and surface solutions.”
The company currently operates two other manufacturing facilities on Ohio and GOJO’s headquarters is located in the state. GOJO said it doubled its production during the pandemic.
About 200 new jobs will be created across the two new facilities.
