Cosmetic contract formulator and manufacturer Artisan Labs will erect a new 12,000-sq-ft production facility in Hansen, ID and hire over 50 people to staff the facility, Southern Idaho Economic Development revealed in a release Monday.

“Artisan Labs is a significant addition to the Magic Valley economy,” Idaho Commerce Director Tom Kealey said in a statement. “By executing all aspects of their manufacturing process at their new Idaho facility – from product development to production and packaging – their investment is providing the region’s workforce with an exciting opportunity to leverage their diverse expertise.”

The company provides cosmetic development and production services to emerging and independent personal care brands. Products made by Artisan Labs are sold across retail and direct-to-consumer channels.

More than 50 workers will be hired to fill positions in microbiology, chemistry, engineering, and quality control.

“We are very excited to be in Hansen; the community has been so welcoming,” the firm’s CEO, Matt Bryant, said in the release. “We hope to be a pillar within Hansen and Southern Idaho by giving back where our employees and their families live and learn.”

Production is expected to start at the Hansen plant this fall.

Artisan Lab manufactures a variety of body care and skin care products, including balms, lotions, scrubs, moisturizers, exfoliators, and oils.
