A massive acid leak and an explosion at a Texas facility and an explosion at a major chemical production complex in Germany were among the top chemical industry headlines in July, as well as an incident at a Michigan chemical facility that forced evacuations.

The news wasn’t all grim through – a new Linde hydrogen plant became operational, NOVA Chemicals sold its ethylene storage business, and Dow launched several expansion projects. ExxonMobil said its joint venture mechanically completed three new production units.

Powder & Bulk Solids editors selected these posts to provide our audience with an overview of some of the most interesting chemical industry-related developments that were reported in the last month.
