American specialty chemicals and custom chemicals manufacturer MFG Chemical announced the promotion of Melanie West to the newly-created position of Director, Supply Chain on Monday. The firm said the appointment is linked to efforts to support its growing domestic and international business.

Most recently occupying the role of Manager, Materials & Scheduling at MFG Chemical, West will oversee the continuous integration and coordination of material handling, scheduling, sourcing, and customer service. A manager representing each of those activities will report to her.

“MFG Chemical is growing, and I’m excited to be taking on these new responsibilities to help manage the growth. We have a well-integrated supply chain monitoring system under ERP and our 2019 initiatives include utilization of its Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system,” West said in a company press release announcing the appointment.

The company also announced that Kim Curtis was named as Manager, Customer Service. She has more than two decades of experience in U.S. and international customer service and logistics for the flooring and hospitality industries.

“I look forward to helping customers throughout the U.S. and internationally. I share MFG’s commitment to deliver the best and most consistent quality in specialty and custom chemicals in the safest and most timely way,” said Curtis in a statement.

The company’s release did not include details on when the positions become effective.
