Wood treatment chemicals manufacturer Koppers Performance Chemicals Inc. recently acquired a parcel of land next to its existing plant in Rock Hill, SC where it plans to build a new production facility.
“This project will allow our company to continue delivering high-quality products to customers and at the same time, providing great career opportunities for our community,” said plant manager Ida Luchey in a November 25 company release.
Koppers said the new plant in the Southway Industrial Park will enable the firm to make its processes more efficient, expand its workforce, and increase its production capacity. The company purchased the land from the city of Rock Hill.
Wood treatment chemicals produced at the site are used to prevent termite damage and decay from rot and fungi. The products are also used in infrastructure-related applications.
