The North American subsidiary of Australian crop protection solutions manufacturer Nufarm Limited recently held a dedication ceremony to mark the beginning of its process to convert an existing 104,500-sq-ft in Greenville, MS into a new, state-of-the-art production facility.
“Our customers need a consistent, high-quality and efficient supply of our product to the southeastern U.S. region, and this new plant allows us to accomplish that with more success and flexibility than ever before,” Brad Hyman, vice president of crop protection sales at Nufarm, said in a company press release.
Nufarm Americas Inc.’s new plant, located on a 16-acre parcel, will include formulation and packaging assets that support the firm’s herbicide and cotton portfolios.
The company said it plans to first hire about 15 new workers and set up the process equipment, engineering, and technology infrastructure in the structure. Once new equipment is in place and other changes are made, Nufarm said it will hire 30 to 50 workers and continue to upgrade the building an property over a five-year period. The renovation project is slated to start this summer.
