Firefighters were dispatched to the Ortec Inc. chemical manufacturing plant in Easley, SC Friday afternoon after a fire ignited inside the facility, local news organizations reported.

The blaze started around 4 p.m. in a 40 ft by 40 ft area in the structure, Easley Fire Department Chief Matthew Littleton told NBC News affiliate WYFF. No chemicals were released during the fire.

A Pickens County HAZMAT team responded to the scene during the incident, coverage by FOX Carolina said. No injuries were documented.
