German specialty chemicals firm Evonik recently completed a project to double its capacity for TROGAMID CX transparent polyamide at its production facility in Marl, Germany, the company announced Tuesday. The new assets became operational in February.

“The reason we created the additional production capacity was because demand for TROGAMID CX keeps growing,” Viviane Papa, who leads of Evonik’s Granules & Compounds product line, said in a release. “Now can continue serving and supporting customers’ growth just as before.”

TROGAMID CX molding compounds are used a variety of applications, including medical engineering, filter technology, and water management. Evonik said the semi-crystalline polyamide is known for its chemical resistance, stability, and strength.

Last month, Evonik closed its acquisition of biotechnology firm innoHealth. The company will be a part of Evonik’s Care Solutions business line.
