Firefighters and a HAZMAT team responded to the Oxygen Development cosmetics plant in Palm Springs, FL on Friday after two chemicals “reacted violently” after they were mixed, local news organizations reported.

Crews were dispatched to the South Congress Avenue site at about 1 p.m., treating two people at the scene for injuries and transporting one person to an area hospital, officials said in coverage by news broadcaster WPTV.

“It appears two different chemicals were combined and they reacted violently, causing a cloud of dust all over the affected area,” Capt. Albert Borroto told the NBC News affiliate.

No explosion was reported during the incident, according to a report by CBS News affiliate WPEC. Workers evacuated the facility while emergency personnel examined the scene.

Oxygen Development’s website describes the company as a producer of color cosmetics, skin care, hair care, bath and body care, and over-the-counter (OTC) products.
