Arkema-owned firm Bostik said it plans to purchase Danish construction chemicals producer LIP Bygningsartikler AS (LIP), expanding its foothold in Scandinavia and adding a range of high value-added solutions to pits portfolio, according to a December 12 company release.
LIP generates about €30 million from sales of its adhesives, waterproofing systems, and floor preparation solutions. The firm currently operates an automated and carbon-neutral production facility in Norre Aaby, Denmark and employs about 50 workers.
“The excellent geographic and commercial complementarity of this acquisition will enable Bostik to offer integrated, innovative and high value-added solutions to its customers in Northern European countries,” Arkemasaid in the release. “Moreover, the LIP teams’ recognized excellence will allow Bostik to significantly accelerate its growth in Nordic countries.”
The deal is slated to close early next year.
In October, Arkema acquired adhesives films firm Prochimir and Lambson, a company that focuses on photoinitiators for photocure resins.
