Chemical industry professional society American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is on the hunt for a new executive director and chief executive officer as the current occupant of the roles, June C. Wispelwey, prepares to retire this coming April.

“The board seeks a visionary leader to execute the organization’s long-range growth strategy, including the ongoing transformation of the institute to serve the diversifying interests of chemical engineering professionals,” AIChE stated in a recent announcement.

A search committee has been formed featuring current members of AIChE’s board of directors and past presidents of the institute. The organization’s 2022 president, North Carolina State University professor Christine S. Grant, will oversee the process.
