Crews were called to the ADA Carbon Solutions powdered activated carbon plant near Coushatta, LA Thursday afternoon after an explosion as reported at the facility, several local news organizations reported.

Few details on the blast were available, but the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office told television news station KSLA that two people were injured with burns during the incident.

Officials are investigating the circumstances that led to the explosion, according to ABC News affiliate KTBS.

Part of Advanced Emissions Solutions Inc., ADA Carbon Solutions is a major supplier of powdered activated carbon, according to the firm’s website. The company describes the its Red River plant near Coushatta as “the largest, most automated and environmentally friendly activated carbon plant in North America.”
