Kansas State University's Advanced Manufacturing & Bulk Solids Technology Center is offering a short course, Basics of Pneumatic Conveying, November 12-13. Also, next spring will see a six-part Leadership Series, Management Strategies: Pathways to Leadership.

Basics of Pneumatic Conveying

Nov. 12-13, 2024 from 8-5 p.m.

Whether you're new to the field or looking to deepen your knowledge, the course equips you with the basic skills and insights needed to optimize your processes and enhance operational efficiency.

This short course will cover:

  • How pneumatic conveying works

  • When it is appropriate and when another type of conveying might work better

  • Components and how they work

  • Difference between a pressure system and a vacuum system and the pros & cons of each

  • Dilute phase, dense phase, medium phase, and vacuum sequencing and which type is right for various applications

Management Strategies: Pathways to Leadership

Runs January through April

If you manage a team or plan to step into a managerial role soon, consider this six-part series. You will elevate your leadership potential throughout this series, which will help you manage teams, streamline processes, and drive operational success. Learn proven strategies to lead in advanced manufacturing and prepare for your next leadership opportunity.

The six sessions are broken up by date and topic:

  • January 16, 2025: Using Strengths and Emotional Intelligence to Maximize Individual and Team Performance

  • February 13, 2025: Building and Motivating Effective Teams

  • March 6, 2025: Critical Communication and Conflict Resolution Skills

  • April 3, 2025: Effectively Engaging Across Cultural and Generational Differences

  • April 14, 2025: Evaluating and Improving Team Performance

  • May 22, 2025: Developing a Strategy to Achieve Results

Each of the six day-long sessions is led by an instructor with years of experience helping businesses and organizations develop and foster more successful managers and teams. Lunch is provided at each session. At the end of the series, all participants are invited to a luncheon that celebrates your success and includes a keynote speaker who will share insights they've learned about leading others throughout their career. You'll also receive two optional personal coaching sessions with the presenter of your choice.
