Viterra Acquires Grain Elevator Operation in North Dakota

Canadian-owned grain handling firm Viterra USA LLC closed its acquisition of Gavilon Grain LLC’s grain elevator in Grand Forks, ND on Monday, expanding the company’s presence in the United States, Viterra announced via press release.
“We’re pleased to add this facility to our asset network, and to continue building our presence in the U.S.,” Viterra’s president and chief executive officer for North America, Kyle Jeworski, said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to working closely with local customers to provide them with superior service, including access to global markets, the expertise of our staff, flexible contracting options, and a wide variety of online tools that are available exclusively to Viterra customers across our asset network.”
The former Gavilon Grain facility contains a grain dryer, two truck receiving pits, and has a storage capacity of 14,000 mt and the ability to load up to 110 railcars. Viterra, whcih operates several other sites in North Dakota, said it would make “immediate capital upgrades” to the site.
