Smart-Hose Receives EU Patent for Break-Away Adaptor

Engineering firm Smart-Hose Technologies has recently been granted a new Patent EP 3 011 217 B1 by the European Union for its Break-Away Adapter, a company announcement said this week. 

The Smart-Hose Break-Away Adapter is a break-away coupler designed with an engineered break-point to protect plant, tank, truck, rail-car and/or loading arms from the hazardous consequences of pull away incidents.  The company said the design does not restrict flow of product and is offered at a price significantly less than conventional break-away technology.

Based in Folcroft, PA, Smart-Hose Technologies designs and produces integrated safety and break-away systems for industrial transfer applications.  The Smart-Hose Safety System can be installed inside of transfer hose assemblies from ¼” ID to 8” ID and break-away technologies in 1 ¼”, 2 and 3” ID.
