The natural color business of Peruvian natural foods and ingredients producer GlobeNatural was recently acquired by Milwaukee, WI-based fragrance, color, and flavors manufacturer Sensient Technologies Corporation, expanding the American company’s offerings of natural colors, a Sensient press release announced Thursday.

A Michell Group company, GlobeNatural is based in Lima, Peru and has sourced, produced, and exported natural food ingredients for more than two decades.

“This acquisition is an important component of our ‘seed to shelf’ initiative in food colors. Eighty percent of food products globally use natural colors and coloring foodstuffs and we anticipate that this market will continue to grow,” said Paul Manning, chairman and chief executive officer of Sensient, in a statement. “We will continue to innovate and expand our natural color supply

Sensient said it expects the transaction to close in the first quarter of this year. GlobeNatural’s natural color business will operate as Sensient Natural Colors Peru S.A.C. following the completion of the acquisition.
