Paints, coatings, and specialty materials firm PPG closed its purchase of Italian paints and coatings manufacturer Industria Chemica Reggiana (ICR) S.p.A., the company announced Monday. The financial terms of the transaction were not revealed.

ICR produces putties, primers, basecoats, and clear coats for automotive refinish applications, a variety of enamels, primers, and coatings for light commercial vehicles, and other light industrial coating products.

The Italian firm has a presence in over 70 countries in North and South America, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. 180 people are currently employed at ICR. 

Last August, PPG acquired Dexmet Corporation, a producer of specialty materials, including perforated metal foils and polymers, for aerospace, automotive, and industrial uses.
