American food and beverage firm Mars Inc. recently unveiled a new business accelerator that will provide $50,000 to six companies in the U.S. and four companies in Australia and four months of support to scale up their operations.

Dubbed The Seeds of Change Accelerator after the Mars Food’s line of organic seed and food products, Mars plans to select companies in four key areas– startup food brands, new business models, innovative experimental offerings, and emerging technology, the company said in a press release Tuesday.

“We’re committed to nurturing the next generator of food innovators who are dedicated to creating and delivering healthier and tastier food solutions for more people,” the program’s sponsor, Fiona Dawson, global president of Mars Food, Multisales and Global Customers, said in a statement.

During the program, selected companies will have access to a variety of industry experts, including Mars’ chairman Stephen Badger, brand builder Rohan Oza, and creative agency JKR.

“By helping startups tackle practical business challenges, such as scaling a product and brand storytelling, and giving them access to our extended network of mentors and advisors, we’re nurturing the next generation of fresh ideas that will shape and enhance the meals of tomorrow,” said the program’s leader, Gary Arora, global lead of open innovation at Launchpad for Mars, in the release.
