Building materials, cement, and concrete firm LafargeHolcim recently acquired one of the Dallas/Fort Worth area’s biggest providers of ready-mix concrete, expanding its presence in Texas, a company press release announced this month.

The company said the purchase of the Texas firm “will strengthen LafargeHolcim’s existing operations in one of the most attractive and biggest ready-mix concrete and aggregates markets in the USA.”

LafargeHolcim’s purchase of Tarrant Concrete, based in Fort Worth, TX, includes three ready-mix concrete plants. The company reportedly generates net sales of over $40 million.

“By being complimentary to our existing business, Tarrant Concrete will allow us to expand our ability to serve customers in a high growth area of Texas. I very much welcome all the employees of Tarrant Concrete to our company,” the chief executive officer of LafargeHolcim, Jan Jenisch, said in a statement.

The release noted that the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan region is growing its population at one of the highest rates in the U.S.
