American food and beverage firm The Kraft Heinz Company said Wednesday that former Campbell Soup Company executive Carlos Abrams-Rivera will become president of its U.S. Zone on February 3.

In his new role, Abrams-Rivera will report to chief executive officer Miguel Patricio and head all U.S. business operations, which is Kraft’s largest business across its footprint. Abrams-Rivera replaces Patricio, who has served as interim president of the U.S. Zone since he was appointed CEO in July 2019. =

“The U.S. represents the majority of our company’s overall business, so this is an enormously important role. I have every confidence that Carlos is the visionary leader we need to drive the U.S. business forward at this moment of transformation,” Patricio said in a company press release. “Carlos has successfully implemented a strategic approach to reinvigorating brands and has a strong track record of growing businesses with a consumer-first focus to consistently drive strong business results.”

Campbell Soup also issued an announcement on Wednesday noting that Abrams-Rivera is stepping down from his role as president of its Snacks division and the company is launching a search for his successor. During his tenure at Campbell Soup, he served as executive vice president and president of Campbell Snacks and president of Campbell’s Pepperidge Farm subsidiary.

Abrams-Rivera also has worked in various leadership positions at Mondelez International and Kraft Foods over the last decade.
