Ohio-based specialty chemical firm Nachurs Alpine Solutions has purchased Koch Fertilizers’ specialty NPK business and a related production plant in Garretson, SD, an announcement said Tuesday.

“We believe this strategic acquisition fits well within our current operations and its ability to support all six of our business units in its geography,” said Nachurs Alpine Solutions’ chief executive officer, Jeff Barnes, in a statement.

Nachurs said the plant in Garretson will become its seventh manufacturing facility in the North America. The company intends to retain existing staff following the transaction.

“We look forward to continued service of existing customers of the Garretson facility, as well as improving our capabilities and service for our current Nachurs Alpine Solutions customers in the Upper Midwest,” Murray Van Zeggelaar, vice president of marketing, said in the release.

The company, headquartered in Marion, OH, produces and NPK liquid fertilizers and sells the products under the Nachurs brand in the U.S. and the Alpine brand in Canada.
