Provider of software and contract research services for small molecule discovery and design Cresset signed a three-way strategic alliance agreement with the Research Centre for Drug Discovery (RCDD) at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, China and iPrecision Medicine Technology Inc. to accelerate the design of pharmaceutical drugs, the Cambridge, UK company announced Tuesday.

“This British-Chinese three-way agreement brings together expertise and innovation in development of technologies for computational molecule design”, said Dr. David Bardsley, commercial director at Cresset, in a statement. “I look forward to working with each organization to establish global distribution channels.”

Under the alliance, which follows the transfer of 10 drug design software patents from RCDD to iPrecison in 2016, Cresset will promote iPrecison software and technology globally.

Bardsley also signed an agreement with RCDD, an arm of the university’s School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, to cooperate on drug design technology developed at the center.
