About 100 people attended an event held by Ceres Solutions Cooperative Inc. last Friday marking the official opening of its new, $13 million feed mill in White Cloud, MI, the company said in a statement. In operation since April, the facility is expected to produce 110,000 tn of swine, poultry, and dairy feed this year.
“This investment has created a partnership resource for producers in Michigan to grow and expand their family farms for generations to come. Our commitment is to be the area’s leader in supplying the highest quality nutritional products and cutting-edge technologies our customers need to succeed,” Martin Hall, operations manager at Ceres Michigan, told the crowd, according to a Ceres Solutions poston Facebook.
Ceres Solutions’ new facility includes 37 bins that can store 1825 tn of ingredients and 18 load out storage bins with a combined capacity of 522 tn. The feed mill is capable of receiving 7500 bushels/hr of grain and can store 90,000 bushels in total at the facility.
The company said the new site is a “bio-secure facility” where workers will perform a number of security measures including full showers, hand washing, and special types of clothing. Vehicles driving to the feed mill will go through a disinfecting process and visitors will have to use footbaths to prevent contamination.
