Bunge Limited Appoints New President of Agribusiness

Bunge Limited recently promoted Senior Vice President of Global Grains and Oilseeds Christos Dimopoulos to president of its Agribusiness segment as the current holder of the post, Brian Thomsen, prepares to retire. 

“Our global footprint and strength in Agribusiness are at the core of Bunge’s business portfolio, and we are pleased to have a seasoned leader with deep industry expertise in operations and risk management in this key role for Bunge,” the firm’s chief financial officer, Soren Schroeder, said in a press release announcing the appointment. “I look forward to working with Christos as we continue to optimize our global footprint and expand on our capabilities in origination, capacity management, and destination marketing to remain the leader in global crush and be a partner of choice for farmers and customers around the world.”

Dimopoulos was hired by Bunge in 2004 after working for Tradigrain and Intrade Risk Management. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management & Marketing from HEC Lausanne.
