Bulk Solids Innovation Center in Free Webinar

The Kansas State University Bulk Solids Innovation Center (BSIC), a university-level research center focused on bulk solids storage, flow, and conveying, will appear in a free webinar hosted by Powder & Bulk Solids on November 19. The hour long event starts at 11 am PST.
Titled “The Future of Powder and Bulk Solids,” the center’s new director Dr. Raju Dandu and Todd Smith, business and strategy manager at BSIC, will discuss how the Kansas State University Bulk Solids Innovation Center provides a wide range of value-added services and solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity when handling powder and bulk solids in industry - food, chemical, pharmaceutical, minerals, and plastics. From research, education, training, access to technology, and bench to full-scale testing of dry bulk solids, the center identifies and solves real-world industrial problems.

Dr. Raju Dandu is a professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus and the director of the Bulk Solids Innovation Center. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from North Dakota State University, an M.S. and B.S. in mechanical, thermal, and nuclear power engineering, both from Slovak Technical University in Czechoslovakia, and an LAE in Automobile Engineering from Andhra Polytechnic.
Todd Smith is Business and Strategy Manager at the Bulk Solids Innovation Center. Todd spent 35 years in the bulk solids industry, as Engineering Manager at MAC Equipment (now Schenck Process) and General Manager of Coperion K-Tron Salina and vice president of the company’s Global Systems Group. He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University and earned his M.B.A in 1998. He has authored one book, as well as many magazine articles and technical papers.
