Freight broker for tanker truck shipments Bulk Connection has released its new “Tank Wash Finder” at bulkconnection.com/tank-wash-directory.  This online tool allows carriers, drivers and corporate transportation professionals to quickly locate wash facilities for tanker trucks across the U.S. and Canada.  While there are a few similar directories in existence, Bulk Connection said its solution is the most comprehensive – providing detailed information on facilities and services for over 400 wash facilities in North America.

The Tank Wash Finder is the brainchild of Jim Cordock, president of Bulk Connection, who began his career as a dispatcher in the bulk freight industry using paper maps and phone books to locate the right tank washes.

“The technology we have now was unimaginable back then,” said Cordock. “We wanted to create a practical, easy-to-use tool that would save dispatchers time and allow them to determine, without a phone call, the right facility for their needs.”

Users can access the Tank Wash Finder on their desktop or mobile device.  Here’s how it works:

·      On the tool’s entry screen, users select the state or Canadian province in which a wash facility is needed
·      A map displays all tank wash facilities in the area
·      Users click on a location icon and are presented with detailed information about the facility

The key difference between the new Tank Wash Finder and other tank wash directories is that it provides detailed information about cleaning, maintenance and driver services available, in addition to the facility’s address and contact information. This detail is invaluable to truckers and includes the types of washes performed (e.g., food-grade, chemical tank cleaning), certifications (e.g., Kosher) and driver amenities (e.g., overnight parking, laundry services). Other directories list only location and contact data.

Bulk Connection is a licensed, bonded and insured freight broker providing on-demand freight capacity for bulk, truckload, LTL and other OTR shipments. The company began in 1987 as bulk shipping specialists and still maintains the largest network of liquid and dry bulk carriers in North America.
