Bulk materials handling equipment firm Bedeschi announced Wednesday that it will supply a new ship loading system for Cargill’s Westwego, LA facility. The installation of the equipment is part of an upgrade project being carried out at the site by the agribusiness.

Bedeschi will engineer and manufacture a shuttle type shop loading arm and then install and commission it at the Cargill facility. Once completed, the system will be capable of loading 80,000 bushels/hr, or 2200 tn/hr, of grains and oilseeds onto ships up to 120,000 dwt.

The company said the ship loading system will be similar to three towers shuttle type shiploader systems Bedeschi recently installed at the CMT terminal in Convent, LA.
