Ardent Mills Names First Chief Growth Officer
January 23, 2020
Flour miller and ingredient manufacturer Ardent Mills appointed former Dawn Foods executive Angie Goldberg as its first chief growth officer this week to lead the firm’s innovation and transformation efforts.
“Angie brings deep knowledge of the food industry, as well as strong marketing and transformational experience. She will be essential as we continually reshape our approach to innovation and relationships,” the firm’s chief executive officer, Dan Dye, said in a company press release Wednesday. “We have made changes to the leadership team to become more customer-focused; we are excited about where we are headed as we make proactive investments and meet consumer demands for different flours, specialty grains, and plant-based foods.”
Goldberg worked for Dawn Foods, a manufacturer of bakery products and ingredients, for eight years, most recently serving as chief transformation officer and chief marketing officer. Prior to her tenure at Dawn Foods, Goldberg was employed by Barilla, where she led the firm’s pasta business.
“The rate of change in grain-based foods is exciting, and I am impressed by Ardent Mills’ commitment to be more agile and innovative,” Goldberg said in a statement. “I look forward to delivering on our mission, vision, and partnering with customers to create new opportunities for growth.”
After she joins Ardent Mills’ leadership team, Goldberg will be in charge of innovation, research, quality and technical services, marketing, sales, and the Annex by Ardent Mills. The company said it created the role to enhance “quality of life and standard of health.”
Last November, Ardent Mills promoted Senior Director of Operations Troy Anderson to Vice President of Operations following the retirement of former VP of Operations, Brad Allen, in May that year. Anderson has served as senior director of operations at Ardent Mills since 2014. Before joining the company, he worked at Cargill in various roles for several decades.
