One of Britain’s largest food manufacturers, 2 Sisters Food Group, is investing £10 million, or about $12.8 million USD, in new technology and innovation at its prepared meals plant in Rogerstone, South Wales, the company announced Friday.

“We’ve always been very proud and passionate about what we do here at Rogerstone and colleagues are now thinking differently following the investment, constantly looking at how we can improve the quality and consistency of our products for the benefit of our customers,” said site general manager Lisa Hanccock in a 2 Sisters press release.

2 Sisters completed a production “pod” for “Oriental” foods at the factory that will “act as the foundation for sustained growth and momentum for the business’ Meal Solutions division,” the release said.

The Rogerstone plant, said to be one of the biggest prepared meals facilities in Europe, also received a new automated coating line and cooling technology that the company said will improve product variety, consistency, and quality.

“Working with our suppliers to invest in our supply chain as we grow our food business is an important part of our strategy. The new Oriental hub at Rogerstone Park is an important step forward for the site and one that will help deliver innovative and exciting meals for our customers,” a company M&S spokesperson said in the release.
