Mineral-based solutions supplier Imerys revealed plans Wednesday for a multi-million-dollar project to increase the manufacturing capacity of its Marble Hill, GA calcium carbonate plant. The company said its decision to invest in the site will enable it to better serve the building and construction markets.

New equipment and automation technology will be installed during the project to debottleneck important sections.

“Imerys is further strengthening its commitment to our customers that continue to grow, as well as creating new jobs in the surrounding community." said Jim Murberger, Senior Vice President, Imerys Performance Minerals Americas, in a release.

The company’s Marble Hill plant currently supplies specialty minerals used in building and construction, flooring, and coatings.
