Specialty cheese firm BelGioioso Cheese has opened a new 100,000-sq-ft manufacturing plant in Glenville, NY, the construction manager for the project, LeChase, announced in a release this week. BelGioioso produced its first vat of cheese after the construction management firm wrapped up work at the site this February.

The company invested $25 million to open the facility, according to an Albany Times-Union report.

LeChase used an FDA-approved waterproof coating on the building’s precast columns, beams, and roof and other concrete surfaces to increase moisture resistance, the release said. The site features an open floor plan for manufacturing operations.

Over 30 varieties of cheese will be manufactured at the site.
