WEG Relocates North American Headquarters

WEG Electric Corp., a leading global supplier of motors, drives, controls, transformers, and generators, has announced that it has relocated its North American headquarters to 6655 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, GA.

Previously located at 1327 Northbrook Parkway, Suwanee, GA, the new facility is 250,000 sq ft - larger than four football fields combined. With 50,000 sq ft dedicated to office space, the new building is twice the size of the original location and currently houses 125 employees. All employees from the Suwanee office and those relocated from the Rochester, NY office will occupy the new address.

“Our new location at Business Park at Sugarloaf will provide additional office and warehouse space necessary for our continued U.S. growth,” said David Pipes, president of WEG Electric Corp. “This location is close in proximity to our current offices and warehouses, allowing minimal disruption to our operations.”

WEG’s other regional distribution centers, including Harrisburg, Chicago, Houston, Ontario, and Portland, remain available to service customer needs nationwide.

During the transition into the new headquarters, WEG will be implementing environmentally friendly procedures, like a company-wide recycling program. Only green chemicals will be used for cleaning the premises, and the use of Styrofoam cups has been eliminated. Additionally, HVAC economizers have been installed on rooftop units and an energy management system has been established to enhance overall energy efficiency.

On April 16, 2010, WEG will hold an open house for customers, local dignitaries, and other members of the community. For more information about WEG, visit www.weg.net/us.
