Fike Expands Axius Rupture Disc Product Line to Larger Sizes

Fike’s Axius high-performance rupture discs are now available in sizes from 6 through 12 in. Fike introduced the Axius reverse-acting rupture (bursting) disc in 2005, as an advancement in high-performance pressure relief technology. Since then, Fike has continued to expand Axius capabilities by offering higher burst pressures, a sanitary version, and now a range of larger sizes.

Axius is designed to be used in aggressive chemical, pharmaceutical, and sanitary applications, and typically outperforms other types of rupture disc types in these difficult applications. The rupture discs have no score lines, no stress zones that can fatigue, and a completely smooth process side. Fike’s proprietary technology enables these discs to have the tightest tolerances available, along with superior cycling performance. Axius discs can also be used in conjunction with other critical pressure relief devices to maximize or extend their service life.

“Axius technology produces extremely reliable, high-performance rupture discs, and we are excited to now offer an even broader product line to our customers,” said Chuck Kopoulos, Fike executive vice president of operations. “We know of many applications where Axius solved a problem that could not be solved by a rupture disc from any other company. Now, with these larger sizes, Axius can be used to solve even more challenging situations. Fike will continue to invest in development of Axius technology and will continue to introduce more Axius rupture discs to the global market.”
