After 35 years of involvement with GreCon, vice president of sales Bob Barnum will be retiring on December 31, 2012.

Barnum started as the national sales manager in 1991 and was promoted to vice president of sales in 1998. Barnum has been instrumental in advancing innovation and for providing safety in many different industries by designing and configuring spark detection systems to meet the gamut of combustible dust applications.

Barnum was an NFPA 664 committee member for 12 years. For Barnum, safety was paramount. The application of spark detection systems in pneumatic and mechanical conveying systems was significant to the protection of employees and production.

Barnum has been a valuable asset and friend and will be missed by all.

“As I now will be retiring, I would like to express my thanks to the Greten family for playing such a major part in my professional career,” said Barnum. “In a nearly 35-year association with GreCon, I have enjoyed working with all my German and American colleagues, and only trust that any contributions I’ve made have been to the benefit of the company and the safety of our customers. I will miss all of you but do look forward to a ‘new career’ of more time with my family, our seven grandchildren, some golf, boating, and traveling.”
