Jenike & Johanson is presenting the following AIChE sponsored courses June 18-20 at the Canadian Management Centre in Toronto:

Flow of Solids in Bins, Hoppers, Chutes, and Feeders

This training covers:

• A wide range of bulk material handling equipment & problems
• A better understanding of how wall friction, cohesion, bulk density, and other properties affect solids flow through bins, feeders, and chutes
• Retrofits to equipment to correct costly flow problems
• Proven methods for solving segregation, uncontrolled powder flow, material stagnation, and ratholing
• Common pitfalls in handling powders and bulk solids


Pneumatic Conveying of Bulk Solids

This training covers:
    
• A review of common pneumatic conveying terms
• Problems and practical solutions
• Key components needed for a pneumatic conveying system
• Effective troubleshooting practices to solve costly transport problems
• Dilute vs. dense phase conveying
• Discussion of dust explosions

These courses are designed for design, project, and research engineers, as well as plant operators responsible for solving and preventing flow problems or purchasing solids handling equipment.

Jenike & Johanson engineers have been presenting courses for AIChE for more than 35 years. Several workshops are incorporated that are designed for participants to work out problems, while applying the theory they have just learned.

The fee for the two-day Flow of Solids course is $1195 for AIChE members and $1395 for non-members. For the Pneumatic Conveying one-day course, the fee is $795 for AIChE members and $995 for non-members. The two-day course provides 1.5 continuing education credits (CEUs) or 15 professional development hours (PDHs). The one-day Pneumatic Conveying course provides 0.8 CEUs or 8 PDHs.
