IBA Announces Biennial Conference Call for Papers

December 10, 2012

The Institute for Briquetting and Agglomeration (IBA) announces its 33rd Biennial Conference, to be held November 3-6, 2013 at the Argonaut Hotel, located in the historic Fisherman’s Wharf of San Francisco.

Founded in 1953 as a professional organization devoted to the science and application of size enlargement methods, IBA has sponsored this premier conference on the state-of-the-art agglomeration technology on a biennial schedule since its inception. This year’s conference will be preceded by a half-day, hands-on workshop on “The Basic Principles & Methods of Agglomeration”. The workshop will include such methods as briquetting, compacting, pelletizing, granulation, extrusion, spray-drying/granulation, and tabletting. This is an excellent opportunity for newcomers, as well as a refresher course for those who desire knowledge on the current methods of agglomeration. The workshop is designed to give the participant a good preparation for the technical conference.

Papers are invited concerning, but not limited to, specific aspects of particle size enlargement in the fields of agrichemicals, biomass, ceramics, charcoal, coal, chemical, environmental impact, foods, iron ore, minerals, pharmaceuticals and waste recycling, as well as scientific fields of binders (natural and synthetic), particle flow, particle-size effects, and quality control methods.

Abstracts may be submitted to iba@agglomeration.org or IBA, P.O. Box 205, Portersville, PA 16051. Articles are invited that describe practical and theoretical studies of the agglomeration process. This includes unit operations within the system. For more information, please visit www.agglomeration.org or call 724-368-4004.
