Residential and commercial flooring products maker Mohawk Industries Inc. plans to invest $10 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Glasgow, VA, including a new extrusion compounding line, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Monday in a press release.
“Mohawk Industries’ Glasgow manufacturing plant has been in operation since 1935, and it was a priority to help this important employer and corporate partner in Rockbridge County continue to grow,” said Gov. McAuliffe in a statement.
The firm’s investment is expected to create 15 new jobs at the site. Mohawk is the world’s largest producer of flooring, producing a range of carpet, rugs, and flooring products for customers across 10 countries.
“We are excited to add this extrusion line to Glasgow,” Vice President of Commercial Carpet Manufacturing at Mohawk Todd Shail said in the release. “We know the expansion will add great jobs for people in this community as well as support demand for Mohawk’s award-winning commercial carpet tile.”
