A worker was killed Thursday at a site in southern Australia when a silo collapsed and crushed him, several Australian news organizations reported.
The silo collapsed at the property in Cocata at about 10:40 a.m., crushing the 47-year-old man, news website Adelaide Now reported. He died at the scene.
The region’s occupational safety regulator, SafeWork SA, reportedly sent investigators to the scene and are looking into the incident.
“SA Police have notified SafeWork SA of the death of a man on a property near Wudinna, on the Eyre Peninsula,’ the regulator said in a statement. “SafeWork SA is in the early stages of investigating the incident.
