Litehouse Foods, a Sandpoint, ID-based producer of refrigerated food products, plans invest $40 million in the expansion of its Hurricane, UT manufacturing plant, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) announced via press release.
The project at the Hurricane site will support the company’s production of salad dressings, dips, and sauces by adding 180,000-sq-ft to the existing plant, St. George News reported. Litehouse said 165 jobs will be created once the facility opens.
“Our goal is to continue to add jobs to the communities that have helped us grow into a dominant leader in our industry,” the company’s chief executive officer, Jim Frank, said in a statement. “We are so pleased to announce our expansion in Hurricane and we look forward to being a stronger partner to the community that has been so supportive of Litehouse.”
Litehouse operates three factories in Idaho, Michigan and Utah.
