K-State Offers Workshop on Pneumatic Conveying of Bulk Solids

The Kansas State Bulk Solids Innovation Center in Salina, KS is hosting a professional development workshop on pneumatic conveying of powder and bulk solids from Aug. 8-11, 2017, the institution announced Thursday.

This course focuses on the design of pneumatic conveying systems, common pneumatic conveying problems and discusses solutions to these problems. Participants will participate in the actual design of dilute phase pneumatic conveying system following step-by-step procedure.

Attendees will receive instruction on design, maintenance, and improvements of pneumatic conveying systems, the advantages and disadvantages of various types of systems, learn to evaluate vendor options, and develop and understanding of how to optimize the performance of existing sytems.

The course is ideal for those involved in the pharmaceutical, plastics, chemical, mineral, food, and grain and feed industries. Those responsible for designing, improving, or troubleshooting pneumatic conveying systems, such as engineers, operators, managers, technicians and R&D scientists and engineers are encouraged to attend.
