Global ingredient solutions firm Ingredion named Valdirene Bastos Licht as its new senior vice president and president of Asia Pacific and an officer of the company, the Westchester, IL company announced Monday.
Overseeing financial and operational management of Ingredion’s Asia Pacific unit, Bastos Licht is set to move into the role on March 1 if she is elected by the company’s board of directors in a Dec. 15 meeting.
“Valdirene is an experienced, global operator and leader. She has a track record of successfully growing different specialties businesses which aligns well with her new role at Ingredion. She will be a welcome addition to Ingredion’s executive leadership team. I look forward to working with her,” said Ingredion’s chief executive officer elect Jim Zallie in a statement.
Bastos Licht most recently served as senior vice president of specialty chemical maker Solvay’s Euro Novecare operation in Asia Pacific. She oversaw 11 plants in 12 countries that produced an array of chemicals for end uses in personal care products, agriculture, coatings, oil and gas and other industries.
Before joining Solvay, Bastos Licht also served BASF for 23 years in a number of positions.
