Italian chocolate and confectionery firm Ferrero recently opened its first innovation center in Asia to further advances in new raw materials and product research and development, health and nutrition, consumer insights and forecasting, the company announced Wednesday.
Located in Singapore, the facility will draw together experts from fields like food science, biotechnology, nutrition, consumer insights, material science and design to create new advances.
“Innovation has always been a core value for Ferrero. Our products are the result of a strong passion for quality and research. The Singapore innovation center will support Ferrero in its continuous pursuit of cutting edge technological solutions,” said the firm’s chief executive officer, Giovanni Ferrero, in a statement.
Ferrero said Singapore was chosen for the company’s first innovation center in Asia because of its strategic location and the scientific research talent and capabilities present there.
“Singapore represents a dynamic and innovative environment where scientific talent and resources combine with diverse Asian consumer demographics,” a Ferrero press release said. “This offers an ideal platform for experimenting with novel technologies and raw materials with the aim to develop and test new products in a market of strategic importance for Ferrero.”
