Atlas Copco opened a new manufacturing facility in Rock Hill, S.C. to produce medical gas products for hospitals and portable compressors and generators for construction end-users, the Swedish industrial company announced Wednesday.
“This state-of-the-art facility will improve our production capabilities, enhancing productivity for our customers in North America,” said Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s Construction Technique business unit, in a statement.
About 330 jobs will be created as a result of the firm’s investment, a press release said.
The facility also includes a U.S. customer center and incorporates lean manufacturing to create optimized and flexible processes that increase productivity while remaining environmentally sustainable, the company said.
Stockholm-based Atlas Copco provides compressors, vacuum solutions, air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools, and assembly systems, as well as sustainable productivity solutions.
