UBM Canon Powder Shows: Where the Industry Meets

April 30, 2013

For professionals engaged in the handling and processing of powder and bulk solids, UBM Canon’s portfolio of conferences and expositions provides the most comprehensive and complete gathering of manufacturing expertise in North America. With its longstanding sponsor, the Process Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA), and media-leading Powder/Bulk Solids magazine, UBM Canon seeks to provide the best resource for face-to-face interactions, new product demonstrations, ‘how to’ best practice education, and professional networking in support of the process manufacturing discipline.
The original “Powder Show”, International Powder and Bulk Solids Conference and Exhibition, has been produced for 38 years, and will next be held in Rosemont (Chicago), IL on May 5-8, 2014. With an updated name, PTXi/Powder & Bulk Solids, this event attracts professionals from all 50 states and 47 countries. In the most recent event, 395 exhibitors held 30,172 meetings with show attendees in just 3 days.
Long-time industry professionals will recall the International Powder and Bulk Solids Conference and Exhibition brand. Since process manufacturing touches so many industries, we updated the name in 2006 to PTXi (Process Technology Expo International)/Powder & Bulk Solids to embrace all aspects of this complex and expansive industry category. Although centered on dry processing and bulk handling, the revised brand enabled us to better serve end-user companies.
The Chicago area has the largest concentration of bulk handling/process manufacturing in the U.S. Yet, despite its superb location, market research and an in-depth analysis of registration databases has identified under-served regions where attendees do not attend a biennial event in Chicago. The largest concentrations are in Canada and Texas.
To serve processing professionals who cannot attend the Rosemont show, we also produce focused regional events in the largest processing markets in North America. These targeted regional processing events run alongside UBM Canon’s automation, robotics, packaging, plastics processing, and design and manufacturing tradeshows, to provide attendees a convenient way to access solutions across many manufacturing categories. The convenience and comprehensive offerings of co-located regional events is preferred by 84% of attendees because the events maximize attendee’s investment of time, and provide the greatest opportunity for peer-to-peer and supplier networking.
To meet the needs of the Canadian market, we launched PTX Canada in Toronto, which runs May 16-18, 2013. In 2014, PTX Montreal runs November 19-20, 2014.
To serve processing professionals in the fast-growing Texas market, UBM Canon launched PTX Houston, which runs October 15-16, 2013. This event is an upgraded successor to one that was previously held in the Houston area, and it is being supported by both manufacturers and local representatives.
UBM Canon seeks to be the best educational and business resource for processing professionals and suppliers of technology, products, and services. There is no other integrated media organization that delivers the quality and quantity of face-to-face meetings, educational programming, and resources for networking and collaboration. UBM Canon produces content in person, online, and in-print, to deliver product and service information when and where it is needed.
