The Powder & Bulk Solids Conference offers all you need to know about dry processing, bulk material handling, storage, particle technology, and related technologies in a content-rich, three-day program.
"The Powder & Bulk Solids Conference has well-recognized presenters poised to deliver proven, practical, and insightful educational content in the areas of material storage and handling, pneumatic conveying, particle technology, and dust collection and safety,” said Eric Maynard, senior consultant, director of education, Jenike & Johanson Inc. “The Conference has been structured to meet the needs of engineers new to the field of solids handling, as well as seasoned plant or research personnel. The program will provide both first principles theory for processing and handling of bulk solids and effective operating practices that will help established engineers to further improve plant operating efficiencies."
This acclaimed event has been an industry staple for over 35 years. The program features educational sessions presented by respected experts and practical workshops led by seasoned engineers.
Remi Trottier, particle technology specialist, The Dow Chemical Co., has over 20 years of industrial experience in particle characterization, aerosol science, air filtration, and solids processing technology. Dr. Trottier has authored some 20 papers and has served as an instructor for several short courses on particle characterization.
Eric P. Maynard, senior consultant, Jenike & Johanson Inc., has designed handling systems for bulk solids including cement and its raw materials used in its manufacture, coal, plastic powder, food products, and pharmaceuticals. He is also the cement industry specialist at Jenike & Johanson, where he specializes in crushing technology and equipment design for handling cohesive and sticky bulk solids.
Joe Marinelli, president, Solids Handling Technologies Inc., is a solids handling expert who has been active in testing bulk solids and consulting on material handling systems design since 1972.
Gary Q. Johnson, chemical engineer and consultant, Work Exposure Solutions LLC, is an industrial ventilation and combustible dust consultant specializing in developing containment, industrial ventilation, and procedural solutions for workplace exposures, and providing maintenance and troubleshooting training to sustain results.
William Stevenson, vice president engineering, CV Technology Inc., is a recognized authority in the field of dust explosion protection in the process industries, a senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and also a member of the National Fire Protection Association.
Vahid Ebadat, Ph.D, CEO, Chilworth Technology Inc., has worked extensively as a process and operational hazards consultant for the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries. He is a regular speaker at training courses on gas and vapor flammability, dust explosions, and controlling electrostatic hazards.
David Mills, Ph.D, pneumatic conveying consultant, undertook a PhD program on pneumatic conveying in 1973 and has been working in this area since, first at the University of Greenwich in London, then as professor of bulk solids handling at Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland. Since 1997, he has been operating as an independent consultant and has written over 200 articles for technical journals and conferences, and has presented short courses and undertaken consultancy on a worldwide basis.
Mark Jones, Ph.D, professor and director, The University of Newcastle, is head of the School of Engineering, director of the Key Centre for Bulk Solids and Particulate Technologies, and director of TUNRA Bulk Solids at the University of Newcastle.
Karl Jacob, a research scientist, The Dow Chemical Co., has 30 years experience with solids processing in nearly all facets of particle technology and is presently a Fellow within the Solids Processing Discipline of Engineering & Process Sciences.
Kerry Johanson Ph.D., chief operations officer, Material Flow Solutions Inc., has authored more than 40 technical papers that have been published in numerous technical journals internationally. He has developed a course for teaching powder flow and technology to graduate students and mentored three recent doctoral graduates at the University of Florida.
Alan Roberts, emeritus professor, the University of Newcastle, has a PhD plus two honorary doctorates and is the recipient of a number of prestigious awards for his work in bulk solids handling, which spans 50 years. He established the TUNRA Bulk Solids Handling Research and consulting group of the University of Newcastle in 1975.
Paul Solt, principal consultant, Pneumatic Conveying Consultants, has specialized in pneumatic conveying topics for the Center for Professional Advancement, East Brunswick, NJ, since 1972.
And for the first time ever, the Powder & Bulk Solids Conference will present Tech Innovations Sessions. These interactive new conference modules showcase the latest in innovative technology surrounding powder and bulk solids. Attendees can witness live demos and understand how these leading-edge technologies can help.
