Compact Metal Detector

The Phantom-series Vertex fits in restricted spaces where other detectors can’t. The in-line system is designed to integrate with vertical form/fill/seal machines for pouch-packing processes. It is typically situated beneath a multihead weigher in snack food and powder processing applications. It utilizes the latest digital signal processing technology to protect free-falling product at high speeds, detecting and rejecting the smallest metal contaminants, including pieces of wire, shavings, and swarf. Despite its slim stature, the unit achieves high sensitivity levels within a compact housing. It also incorporates the intelligence, functionality, and user-friendly operation of the Phantom digital technology via a mountable remote control box.

Vertical Spout

Powerful opposing magnets mounted to the outside of the housing draw tramp metal out of the product stream. A center diverter on the housing inlet helps direct product toward the magnets. A single trap face design eliminates the possibility of the captured tramp metal being washed back into the product stream. The magnets retract from the housing, taking the tramp metal out of the product flow area. A stripper plate stops as the magnets continue to retract, separating the magnets from the stripper plate. Tramp metal is safely discarded into collection trays.

Compact Vertical-Fall Metal Detector

The MET30+ vertical-fall metal detector is 25% smaller than the standard systems previously available. It provides manufacturers with high levels of protection for incoming bulk raw materials in both granular and fine-powder form, even in severely restricted spaces. By incorporating a quick-release reject system, the amount of downtime and products rejected are reduced, while the quality of the material remains protected. The short height of the pneumatic reject system provides fast-acting removal of contaminated products, which increases efficiency and throughput rate.

Gravity-Flow Metal Detector

Designed for dry processing applications, the Gravity FlowSD metal detector can detect ferrous, nonferrous, and stainless-steel contaminants in high-volume free-flowing powders and granular products. Available as a free-standing unit with a reduced footprint or as a suspended unit, it has 4-, 6-, and 8-in. infeed and discharge pipes and a high-speed reject valve to divert contaminated products. Utilizing quick-release clamps, the reject diverter can be dismantled quickly without tools and swung open to allow thorough cleaning of both the throughput pipe and the reject mechanism, saving time. An intuitive user interface offers rapid operator training and ease of use for maximum uptime. Patented Zero Metal Free Zone technology minimizes the installation space required by the detector, enabling it to integrate easily into new or existing lines and saving costs.

Tramp-Iron Grate-in Housings

TGH tramp-iron grate-in housings incorporate Erium ceramic, Rare Earth, or Xtreme Rare Earth magnet material to remove ferrous contaminants from free-flowing products as they cascade through rows of magnetic grates within a custom-manufactured housing. Standard grate housings are offered, but customized designs can be made to fit specific installation requirements. Typical TGH units include a stainless-steel rectangular housing that holds multiple rows of powerful 1-in.-diam tube magnets, which attract and hold fine ferrous contaminants as material flows around the magnets. A variety of optional features, including adapters, sanitary finishes, additional magnet rows, and more, are available to meet unique application needs.

Continuous-Cleaning Drawer Magnet

The continuous-cleaning HF drawer magnet can be used in any gravity-flow application in which continuous product flow is required. It is ideal for any operation that runs 24/7 because it never needs to be stopped for cleaning. It cleans on the fly without disrupting product flow. The magnet keeps the operation going, saves labor costs, keeps product moving, provides magnetic protection during the entire process, and simplifies installation. Tailor-made units are available to fit specific requirements.
